Walking in Argyll, West Coast of Scotland

Local Walking at Balinakill

Some pleasant walks start from the Hotel. In the hills behind the house there is a walk of just over a mile to Loch Ciaran and miles of other tracks suitable for walking and cycling.

There are wild brown trout in the Loch and you are welcome to fish from the bank.
Down through the village is the walk across fields to the lovely beach in Dunskeig Bay – this is not one you would easily find so please ask for directions.

More island than mainland, the wonderfully unexplored Kintyre Peninsula boasts hidden coves, deserted beaches along the wild atlantic coast, tiny fishing communities, gentle hills, fabulous local produce and welcoming friendly people.

The Kintyre Way, Mull it over.... at www.kintyreway.com

There are waymarked trails at Carradale and at Skipness, including a 10 mile walk between Tarbert and Skipness.

A full list of walks are available at the Kintyre area, VisitScotland and Forestry Commission websites.
